hi everyone! I am writing from China! It is pretty amazing here. I had no idea what to expect. Shanghai is very modern but there are bits of the old world tucked in every corner. Yesterday we vistied a Budest Monestary that is over a thousand years old. I have always wanted to see something like it, incense burning, huge gold statues in every building, typical old Chinese architecture, vegetarian noodles in the little eating hall. amazing.
I taught ny first class at a University yesterday to some students on TIG and many other issues I enjoy discussing ;)
they were all very excited to learn about TakingitGlobal, so hopefully they will get involved.
Otherwise the food is great, the beer is cheap and life is great! Hope everyone is doing well!

"The House International Relations Committee is discussing the possibility of bombing Iraq. One of its members Rep. Ron Paul of Texas has written a letter to the president opposing the idea with excellent reasons why our country must not. He is seeking other congressional members to sign on to his letter. I spoke with his legislative aide in Washington this morning who stressed the importance of this action. He says the State Department is not for it, but it is the Defence Dept. pushing it. If you had the time to include phone numbers, even local ones of different congress people, it might br more successful to get people to call.Or they can call the Congressional Switchboard at 1-202-224-3121 to be connected to an individual member. I don't need to impress you with how important this action is."

The United States is about to embark on a larger campaign to murder more innocent people. We can not stand by and watch! Everyone should be working to oppose any further developments in this "new" war. An email is easy enough to send out, so please start protesting!

I am on may way to China this weekend (I hope). I will be in Shanghai for just over a week, I am super excited, never been before. I searched for members in Shanghai, but never found any so if you are out there send me an email :)
